UrHypno Support

Personalised hypnosis sessions, written for the thing you actually want to change. If your question isn't answered here, email support@urdev.dev — a person reads every message.

Getting started

What is UrHypno?

You describe what you'd like to change in your own words. UrHypno writes a hypnosis session around it — your triggers, your situation, your reasons — then voices it and mixes it with a background sound. It's a session made for you, rather than a recording everyone hears.

How is this different from other hypnosis apps?

Every other hypnosis app sells recordings. One script, read once by one person, identical for every listener. UrHypno writes yours from what you tell it, which is why a session about quitting can mention the time of day you actually reach for it, and the reason you tell yourself you need it.

What can I use it for?

Sleep, calm, confidence, focus, and habit change — including stopping smoking, vaping or cannabis. Habit change is what the app is best at, because that's where knowing your specific triggers matters most.

How long does a session take to make?

Usually one to three minutes. The script is written first and shown to you, so you can read it and regenerate any section you don't like before it's turned into audio.

Using the app

How do I get the best session?

Be specific. "Stop smoking" works. "Stop smoking — I smoke most on my break at 11 and after dinner, and I tell myself it's the only time I get to myself" works far better, because all of that ends up in the session.

Can I change the script before it's voiced?

Yes. Step three of the wizard shows you every section. You can edit the words directly, or regenerate any section for a fresh version, as many times as you like. Nothing is voiced until you're happy.

Which voice should I choose?

Try each — there's a preview on the voice step. Most people settle on the one that feels least like being read to. There's no right answer, and you can use a different voice for your next session.

When should I listen?

Somewhere you won't be interrupted, with headphones if you have them. Sessions that end by returning you to full alertness are fine any time; sleep sessions are designed to let you drift off, so save those for bed.

How often should I listen?

For habit change, most people listen daily for the first week or two, then when they feel they need it. There's no requirement — the tracker is there to show you what you've done, not to nag you.

What are the craving tracks for?

A craving usually peaks and passes within a few minutes. The short tracks are made to be played in that moment, rather than as a full session.

It's wearing off. What do I do?

Make a booster. It's the same as your original session but written fresh for where you are now — which is usually different from where you were when you started. Boosters are included in the Quit Programme.

Plans and payment

What does it cost?

The Quit Programme is a one-off payment. It includes a full session written for your habit, short craving tracks, and boosters when you need them — twelve sessions in total. We charge once because quitting is meant to work once.

UrHypno Plus is an optional subscription for the wider library — sleep, confidence, focus and calm — with three new personalised sessions a month.

Why is the Quit Programme not a subscription?

Because a subscription would mean earning the most from the people it didn't work for. One payment, and if it works you never hear from us again — except for your boosters, which are included.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. There's also a link in UrHypno under Settings › Subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. We can't issue refunds ourselves, but tell us what went wrong and we'll try to fix it.

I paid but the app doesn't show it

Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings › Subscription. If that doesn't work, email us with the Apple ID email you purchased with.

Your account and data

How do I delete my account?

Settings › Delete Account. It removes your account, your sessions, your audio and your history immediately and permanently. There's no waiting period and no way to undo it.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Yes — email support@urdev.dev from the address on your account and we'll send it.

Is what I write private?

Your goal is sent to the services that write and voice your session, and stored in your account. It is never sold, never shared for marketing, and never used for advertising. There's no analytics in the app at all. The privacy policy explains exactly where it goes.

I forgot my password

Email support@urdev.dev from your account address and we'll help you get back in.

Safety

Is hypnosis safe?

For most people, ordinary hypnosis recordings are a relaxing experience. Don't listen while driving or operating machinery — sessions are designed to relax you deeply, and some are designed to send you to sleep.

Is this medical treatment?

No. UrHypno supports habits and feelings. It doesn't diagnose, treat or cure any medical or psychiatric condition, and it isn't a substitute for professional care. If you're stopping something you use heavily, or you have a mental or physical health condition, speak to your GP as well — in the UK, your GP can also refer you to free stop-smoking support, which works well alongside this.

Something in a session felt wrong

Stop listening, and email us with the session name. Every script is checked automatically before it's voiced, but automated checks aren't perfect and we want to know when one gets something wrong.

Still stuck?

Email support@urdev.dev. Tell us what happened, what you expected, and roughly when — that's usually enough for us to find it.
